Tales from my Grandmother’s Lips

Tuesday 18th August @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

“Once you’ve heard your aged Jewish grandmother — who survived the Holocaust — tell a tale that can make you believe there’s still magic, there’s no going back.” — Shonaleigh Cumbers

Yorkshire’s world-renowned tradition-bearer Shonaleigh is a drut’syla (storyteller) from Yiddish oral tradition.

Shonaleigh is performing live for YFOS. This is a rare chance to hear ancient tales untold for two generations and barely spoken for decades. This intimate storytelling performance will shed light on a labyrinth of traditional Jewish stories told to Shonaleigh by her Bubbe (Grandmother).
